Job Summary
Performs a variety of business operation and accounting duties that range in level of complexity from clerical accounting duties such as managing receivables, overseeing departmental petty cash, reviewing travel reports, and managing departmental inventory to more complex duties such as reconciling monthly budget reports, submitting department financial reports, and conducting financial analysis projects.

Responsibilities
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
  • Prepares monthly budget and fund balance statements for year-end reporting purposes, primarily using PeopleSoft and Excel.
  • Reconciles monthly revenue and expense reports and maintains all related back-up documentation.
  • Reviews revenue and expense documents for accuracy and ensures transactions are allocated properly.
  • Analyzes and corrects errors found during the monthly revenue and expense reconciliation by submitting journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Oversees new departmental inventory and updates the department asset management system.
  • Serves as the point of contact for department facility key requests and transfers.
  • Manages the Business Office petty cash fund, credit card machine inventory, and receivables log to assist with departmental deposits.
  • Educates coaches on both compliance and financial policies for camps and clinics in addition to reviewing camp financials and preparing camp profit and loss statements.
  • Supports the Business Office with reviewing and reconciling travel expense reports.
  • Assists the Director of Finance with various financial analysis projects and financial report submissions.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned and has the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities within the business office.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field; plus two years of related experience.
  • 2 years of collegiate athletics business office, clerical accounting, or relevant experience.
  • The ability to understand, interpret, and apply University and departmental regulations.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and completing multiple tasks and projects in a timely manner.
  • Human relations and effective communication skills required.
  • Experience using programs such as Access, Excel, and PeopleSoft.
  • Must have valid Driver’s License

  • Skilled in using Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word.
